Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching: Deliver Biblical sermons that are grounded in scripture and provide practical applications for daily life.
2. Discipleship and Growth: Guide church congregants to grow in their relationship with Christ, utilize their talents, and equip others. Lead the multiplying effort to plant additional churches.
3. Strategic Leadership: Embrace our values, vision and mission, and guide our strategy to accomplish these while ensuring alignment with our small groups, ministry teams, and events. Model servant leadership by empowering others to serve in their giftings.
4. Community Outreach: Cultivate a culture of intentionality within the church, inspiring members to actively engage with the local community. Foster relationships with other church and parachurch ministries to strengthen our collective impact in Rochester and beyond.
5. Administrative Oversight: Demonstrate strong organizational skills and delegation. Able to be first among equals in the plurality of elders that govern the church.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Calling and Spiritual Qualities: A clear calling to pastoral ministry at Beacon Hill Church. Must embody the qualities of 1Timothy 3:1-3, 2Timothy 2, and Titus 1:5-9, with a strong commitment to and track record of authenticity and spiritual integrity.
• Education and Experience: A seminary degree and 3-5 years of pastoral experience is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to grow and develop ministries or similar activities is required.
• Skills and Characteristics:
  • Strong preaching ability that aligns with Biblical truths and focuses on practical application.
  • Proven skills in discipleship and leadership development.
  • Friendly, adept at relationship-building, and able to relate to and care for a diverse congregation.
  • Strategic leader able to delegate responsibilities with strong follow through.
