Job Overview

Lead Pastor's duties would include the following:

• Be a guide in understanding God's Word
• Be involved with and provide Spiritual guidance in all church related happenings to the congregation and to the community
• Lead and deliver messages during Worship services (worship leaders available if desired)
• Weddings
• Funerals
• Children's Dedications
• Baptisms
• Counseling
• Work with church board on all matters
• Visitation (shut-ins, hospital)

Job Description

The Lead Pastor is the spiritual head of our 300 member family at Center Hill. We do not employ assistant Pastors. The church board handles business matters of the church, allowing our Pastor to focus on preaching, teaching, visiting and discernment. Our board has four specific groups (Ministry, Witness, Nurture, Stewards). We work together with our Pastor in undertaking the Great Commission. Dinners, festivals, supporting local charities and a Honduras orphanage, and youth activities are some of the ways we've organized our internal and external outreach.

We look to our Pastor for spiritual guidance in all things, and we work with our Pastor to make improvements. Our church secretary is available to help our Pastor organize and prepare.

We have an hour-long Sunday School, followed by approximately hour-long Worship Service. Typical messages are 20-30 minutes.

Center Hill is part of the Covenant Brethren Church (CBC). It is an expectation that an incoming Pastor would themselves become a member of the CBC and become ordained within the CBC.
