Job Overview

Emmanuel Church is a new church plant in Northwest Ohio. We are seeking a lead pastor to shepherd our congregation in partnership with three lay elders. 

Emmanuel Church was planted under the leadership of King’s Cross Church of Defiance, Ohio, and in partnership with the Fellowship of Evangelical Churches. Our core team began meeting in January 2023 for prayer and planning. A year later, we covenanted together as a church. We currently have an average Sunday attendance of 60.

Job Description

The candidate must meet the biblical qualifications of an elder.

Ideally, the candidate will have previous pastoral experience or will have completed a ministry internship or residency. The candidate should also have some formal theological training, with a graduate-level seminary degree strongly preferred.

Candidates will need to demonstrate competency and faithfulness in teaching the Scriptures. Emmanuel Church prioritizes expository preaching and teaching. The candidate will also need to demonstrate an ability to communicate well and work with others in humility and charity.   

Applicants should be in agreement with our Statement of Faith and Constitution. Our church is elder-led and congregation-ruled, Reformed, credobaptist, and complementarian.
