Salary & Benefits:

Salary package range is $36,000 – $50,000 based on education and experience, further details are available upon request. A copy of our 2024 budget, the previous year's budget, including a ten year giving record,10 year averages on Sunday School, church attendance, and the total additions for the last 10 years.

Goal:

Through the submission of God's word and the direction of the Holy Spirit, FBCC is looking for a Pastor who, first and foremost, loves God, and loves God's people (Matthew 22:37-39, 1 John 4:7-21). Additionally, he must be a gifted preacher and teacher of God's word, who also can shepherd the body of Christ to grow spiritually. He must be a man who understands the importance of rightly dividing the Word of God through expository preaching. He must lead God's people in the making of disciples by gathering the saints, studying God's word, and going into the world around us to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This individual must give overall leadership to the entire Church while working with the deacon body, ministry team leaders, small groups leaders, and the administrative team to achieve the Lord's plans for His Church.

Our goal is to find the man who has a clear calling from the Lord to be our Pastor, to lead in proclaiming the true gospel written in God's Word, reaching individuals for Christ, fostering spiritual growth, engaging with the surrounding community, and adding to the growth of our church family. Our new pastor will have support and encouragement from the church and will be accountable to the church.

Profile of Characteristics, Qualities, & Convictions

· Affirms the doctrines of Grace according to God's Holy Word.

· He sets the example for having a vibrant relationship with the Lord.

· He sets the example of loving, leading, and prioritizing his family.

· Must have a commitment to the authority of Scripture as the divinely inspired Word of God as his foundation of belief and practice.

· He sets the example of servant leadership in the Church.

· Meets the criteria of an "overseer," per 1 Timothy 3

· Able to effectively teach and preach sound doctrine (1 Tim 3:1-7, 2 Tim 2:15, 2 Tim 4:2, Ephesians 4:11-16, Tit 1:6-9, I Pet 5:1-4) Be passionate about the life transformation of the Gospel and be active in sharing their faith Matthew 28:19-20.

· The Pastor and his family must also become resident members of FBCC.

· A commitment to evangelism, discipleship, missions, and outreach

· Committed to financial responsibility and accountability.

· Holds to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and agrees with FBCC by-laws, policies, and procedures adopted by the FBCC congregation.

Preferences:

· Education from a sound theological seminary or pursuing a degree from one.

· Ministry experience is a plus.

● Must have a commitment to the sovereignty of God in salvation. Romans 9

● A Master of Divinity or actively pursuing one is a plus.

● Has a family with children.

· Must be committed to maintaining our affiliations with the Southern Baptist Convention, and the Montana Southern Baptist Convention.

Our Church:

First Baptist Church-Colstrip seeks a pastor who feels called to serve in rural southeastern Montana. We are a church of approximately 100 members (active membership approximately 40-50) in a town of 2200 people. We are looking for a candidate who leans heavily on the written word of God and is committed to caring for and teaching a congregation who wants the same.
