Lead Pastor – First Baptist Church of Fair Oaks

Overview

First Baptist Church of Fair Oaks, a well-established SBC church in the Sacramento, CA area, is seeking a full-time senior pastor. The ideal candidate would model a love for sharing Jesus and a life of genuine faith. would lead and encourage the congregation to build rich relationships among members while also having the eyes open to the need for Christ all around the community. Would shepherd all age groups, and also have a heart to mentor the young to become leaders. The pastor should teach biblically sound messages that do not shy away from thorny issues, with love and with courage. The church is a place where disciples make more disciples.

• Must adhere to the tenets of The Baptist Faith and Message (2000)
• SBC ordained minister with a Master's degree from a seminary preferred
• Have 6-10 years of pastoral experience
• Fulfills biblical pastor requirements: 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-4

Our Church

First Baptist Church of Fair Oaks is a diverse multi-generational congregation. Established in 1952, FBCFO has grown from a simple home church to its current membership of 500 with an average weekly attendance of 300.

Staff, deacons, and volunteers oversee a myriad of ministries, including AWANA, Youth Camp, Senior Choir, Bible studies and an annual Oct. 31 neighborhood outreach. The congregation is debt free and supports the Southern Baptist Cooperative Program, William Jessup University, The Union Gospel Mission and many other ministries.

The Community

The community of Fair Oaks is part of the greater Sacramento area with a population of around 33,000. The five mile radius around FBCFO, which includes the communities of Citrus Heights, Orangevale, Carmichael, and Antelope, has a population of approximately 340,000. Within a half hour drive in any direction there are rivers, lakes, parks and nature areas, as well as communities ranging from urban city life with sports, theater, and music venues, to pastoral countryside where many keep horses or livestock.

Salary: $74,000-$110,000, dependent on experience; includes benefit package
