Immanuel Baptist Church Profile

Vision, Mission, & Values

Immanuel Baptist Church has impacted the Butler community with the Gospel since its founding in 1959. Originally founded as a church for the rural community and working-class citizens of Butler, IBC has developed a strong representation of the socio-economic and the ethnic make-up of Butler and the surrounding Bates County population. Bible teaching and discipleship have always been core values of IBC. The mission of Immanuel Baptist Church has been to reach the lost in the greater Butler area, while caring for, developing, and nurturing the body of Christ represented in the church. IBC continues to focus on caring for the community of Butler while challenging the faithful to be on mission for Christ in their daily lives.

Ministries

Currently, IBC shows strength and depth in the areas of Small Group Ministries, Men's and Women's ministry, Nursing Home Ministry, Seniors Ministry and Children's Ministry. Our Worship Team is seen as a strength in the overall ministry of the church.

Church Operational Details

Attendance since 2021 has shown steady growth with the current average attendance of approximately 100 people on Sundays. Our annual budget for 2024 is $185,000 and a working capital reserve is maintained to cover several months of operations. Extra principal payments are made monthly on the property's mortgage.

Worship Experience

Our Sunday worship experience is welcoming and friendly, relaxed, and Jesus-focused. Dress is casual. We have people attending who wear shirts and ties and others wearing jeans. IBC members and attenders enjoy worship singing(mostly contemporary with some traditional) and are led by a competent group of praise team musicians. Preaching is always Bible-based, following traditional expository preaching style but also addressing the challenges of modern life and what it looks like to live for Jesus in our contemporary world. Communion is celebrated monthly and baptisms are a time of celebration for the church family. Worship time is currently at 10:00 am and runs approximately an hour and fifteen minutes.
