REDEEMER CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP 900 West Berrendo Rd Roswell, NM 88201 RCF seeks a reformed lead pastor willing to shepherd, exegete, lead worship, and disciple a a small congregation in Roswell, NM. It is the fifth-largest city in New Mexico. It is a center for irrigated farming, dairying, ranching, manufacturing, distribution, and petroleum production. It is also the home of the New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI), founded in 1891. Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge is located a few miles northeast of the city on the Pecos River. Bottomless Lakes State Park is 12 miles (19 km) east of Roswell on US 380. Roswell is most popularly known for having its name attached to what is now called the Roswell UFO incident. It is a community heavily influenced by Mexican/Hispanic Culture. A high priority of the pastor’s time is placed on the sermon preparation. SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT OF MEMBERS: The pastor shares members’ struggles regarding the Christian faith with opportunities for individuals and groups to reflect on beliefs, concerns, and doubts regarding Christian understanding of the spiritual dimensions of life. This is vital to the pastor’s weekly workload and should be shared with the church deacons. CONGREGATIONAL VISITATION: The pastor develops and carries out a systematic plan for the visitation of the entire congregation, with particular attention to prospective members and those with special needs. DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING: The pastor is committed to training and raising men into positions of leadership and eldership. He is committed to passing on the reformed faith to those of the congregation through the breaking of bread, teaching theology, and living life together. This model also encourages these men to become disciplined of other men themselves. TEACHING RESPONSIBILITY: The pastor accepts an active teaching role, interpreting and teaching the Scriptures, theological concepts, history of the Church, and current events; provides instruction for Church Officers and educational leaders, and confirms new members. INVOLVEMENT IN LOCAL COMMUNITY PROBLEMS AND ACTIVITIES: Concern for identifying social problems in the community; work done with groups seeking solutions. Time and skills committed to community groups. Information and encouragement are provided to enable members to become informed and involved.
