Job Overview

Southbrook is a lively, animated, growing church. We run out of parking spaces regularly and our foyer overflows. People really have to sit in the very front row; we will need more chairs and more classrooms. Our ministry regularly reaches over 120 people who call Southbrook their church family, but less than 40 adult members are currently on the roles. Most of our people are first-generation believers who did not grow up familiar with church life but want to raise their families in Christian community. We believe our church is between the ‘adolescent' and ‘adult' stages of our church's life cycle, and we are looking for a leader gifted in vision, relationship, ministry, and structure to help us continue to build and grow. Wadena has just been named to the top 10 places to live in Minnesota, and our state has some of the best health care in the country.

Job Description

We are looking for a mentor, shepherd, friend, and fellow pilgrim who is able to influence ministry culture through personal example and character of integrity. We are looking for a leader who will lives out his Christian journey shoulder to shoulder with us and will spearhead Kingdom ministry in our communities. Although competency in traditional pastoral roles is expected, there are four elevated traits that will fit our ministry need the most:

BIBLE TEACHING: We want someone who understands scripture and will teach it in an understandable way so we can apply it to our lives.

INTERPERSONAL: Our church body is family, and we invite our shepherd to share life with us.

CHART FUTURE COURSE: SBC is in a growth phase, and we would like our leader to be able to navigate the next steps.

DISCIPLER: Our church would benefit from an intentional plan to develop individuals in their Christian walk.
