Overview:

Summit Church is seeking a lead pastor with a heart for discipleship and outreach. Someone passionate about strengthening families, equipping parents, and placing Christ at the center of every home. Summit is committed to Christ-centered worship and building lasting, life-giving relationships.

Duties:

• Provide overall direction for the church, seeking God's vision in partnership with church leadership and guiding the congregation toward spiritual health and growth.
• Deliver biblically grounded, Spirit-led messages weekly and ensure the development of meaningful Christ-centered worship services.
• Oversee corporate worship in collaboration with the worship leader and foster spiritual formation through discipleship, teaching, and pastoral initiatives.
• Provide compassionate care through hospital visits, crisis counseling, and support for shut-ins. Share responsibilities for weddings, funerals, and other life events.
• Lead, mentor, and support pastoral and administrative staff. Oversee hiring for key ministry positions and cultivate a collaborative team environment.
• Equip and encourage elders, deacons, and lay leaders by setting direction, providing training, and empowering them for ministry.
• Lead regular staff meetings and retreats to ensure alignment, foster communication, and strengthen ministry planning and execution.
• Participate in budget planning, lead stewardship efforts, and promote a culture of generosity and faithful resource management.
• Represent the church through outreach, media, and active involvement in community organizations and denominational activities.
• Commit to regular study, prayer, and spiritual disciples to remain rooted in Christ and effective in pastoral leadership.

Experience:

• Experience in a pastoral role or similar leadership position is preferred.
• Strong background in teaching, public speaking, and event planning is essential.
• Exceptional communication and writing skills are necessary for effective outreach and engagement with the congregation.
• Some college coursework is preferred, though we welcome candidates with relevant experience in lieu of formal education.
