The Lead Pastor is responsible for the spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and administrative oversight of The Rock Bible Church (TRBC). The Lead Pastor will also lead the church staff, foster community engagement, and promote the spiritual growth of the congregation.

Job Description

Overview/Duties/Responsibilities: Principal Function: The Lead Pastor is entrusted with the responsibility and oversight of the entire church and all its ministries. He is accountable for providing administrative leadership to ensure the church operates smoothly and in alignment with its mission. Working closely with the Elder Board, the Lead Pastor will communicate and cast the vision for the church, guiding its direction and growth. His authority is derived from his ability to faithfully and effectively lead the church, ensuring that its ministries reflect biblical principles and fulfill its spiritual goals.

The Lead Pastor shall provide: – Administrative and Team Leadership •Serve as a voting member of the Elder Board •Provide team leadership and administrative oversight for the total church function, to include direction, support, and professional development for the church staff, deacons, and volunteer leaders •Advise, mentor, and assist in training associate Pastors, Elders, and Deacons for their responsibilities, and hold staff members accountable when standards are not maintained •Provide oversight with Elders for the discipleship of developing church leaders and volunteers as they perform their assigned responsibilities •Supervise and carry out the coordination, selection, and scheduling of all paid and volunteer church personnel •Manage the church's administrative functions, including budgeting, planning, and resource allocation •Work with the Elders to ensure financial integrity and accountability •Have a working knowledge of all job descriptions and work policies and see they are adhered to and executed in a timely and satisfactory manner •Ensure effective communication and collaboration among church staff and ministries •Be responsible for staff morale and motivation

– Pastoral Care and Congregational Support •Provide pastoral guidance and support for the members of our congregation, to include spiritual, marital, and pre-marital guidance according to TRBC bylaws •Oversee church discipline in accordance with scripture (Matthew 18:15-20) and TRBC bylaws •Conduct funeral services, baptisms, weddings, and other pastoral services subject to TRBC bylaws

– Spiritual Leadership and Preaching •Prepare and deliver inspiring, biblically sound sermons that engage and challenge the congregation on a weekly basis; in the event of the Pastor's absence, any and all speakers will be approved by the Elder Board prior to being scheduled •Coordinate with assigned personnel and have final authority and responsibility to ensure successful planning and delivery of all regularly scheduled worship services and events • Lead in observance of ordinances • Proclaim the gospel and equip members to witness, grow, and develop in Christian maturity so the church may share the gospel with the whole community and world • Assist with promotion of approved special events and meetings held by the church, ensuring all church activities and ministries are aligned with the church's mission and values

– Continuous Improvement and Growth • Attend relevant evangelistic conferences and seminars to fulfill his Pastoral duties and job enrichment (staying within the allotted budget); all events must be reviewed and approved by the Elder Board • Encourage and facilitate continuous spiritual growth and education of the congregation, fostering a culture of discipleship, evangelism, and community outreach • Develop and communicate a clear vision for the church's future growth and direction
