Job Overview
The Lead Pastor is the spiritual leader of The Rock Bible Church and will serve as an elder, responsible for shepherding the congregation, equipping believers for ministry, and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This role involves preaching, teaching, pastoral care, leadership development, and strategic visioning in alignment with the mission, values, and policies of The Rock Bible Church. The Lead Pastor must meet the Biblical qualifications of an elder as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9, modeling a Christ-centered life and servant leadership.

Reports To: Elders of The Rock Bible Church
Status: Full-Time, Salaried
Key Responsibilities
1. Preaching and Teaching
- Preach Biblically sound, Christ-centered, Spirit-led, expository sermons that apply Scripture to everyday life.
- Lead and oversee the development of sermon series, ensuring alignment with the theological convictions of The Rock Bible Church.
- Teach and equip the congregation through Bible studies, small groups, and other discipleship opportunities.
2. Spiritual Leadership
- Model a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ through personal prayer, study of Scripture, and worship.
- Shepherd the congregation by providing spiritual guidance, prayer, and pastoral care as needed.
- Champion a culture of discipleship, fostering spiritual growth and maturity in the church body.
3. Vision and Mission Alignment
- Lead in casting and implementing the vision, mission, and core values of The Rock Bible Church.
- Collaborate with the Elders and ministry leaders to develop and execute strategic plans for ministry growth and community impact.
4. Leadership Development
- Mentor, equip, and empower staff, Elders, and ministry leaders to serve effectively in their roles.
- Provide oversight and encouragement to ministry leaders, ensuring alignment with the church's vision, values, and policies.
- Foster a culture of servant leadership and teamwork.
6. Community Engagement
- Represent The Rock Bible Church within the local community, building relationships with other churches, organizations, and leaders.
- Encourage the church's involvement in outreach and evangelism efforts to reach the unchurched in the community.
7. Administrative Responsibilities
- Serve as an elder and adhere to all church policies as established by the Elders.
- Oversee church staff, ensuring roles and responsibilities are carried out effectively.
- Work with the Elders and finance team to manage the church budget and financial stewardship.
- Attend and actively participate in elder meetings and other church leadership gatherings.
Qualifications:
- A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing relationship with Him.
- Demonstrated calling to pastoral ministry.
- Meet the Biblical qualifications of an elder (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9).
- An educational background in theology, ministry, or a related field.
- Proven experience in pastoral leadership, preaching, teaching, and shepherding.
- Agreement with The Rock Bible Church's doctrinal statement, mission, values, and policies.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- A heart for discipleship, evangelism, and community engagement.
Working Relationships:
- Reports directly to the Elders of The Rock Bible Church.
- Serves as a member of the elder team.
- Oversees pastoral staff, ministry leaders, and administrative staff.
- Works closely with ministry teams and volunteers.
Work Schedule:
- This is a full-time position requiring at least 40 hours per week, including Sundays and some evenings, as ministry needs dictate.
