Job Description:

Sojourner Counseling is seeking a child & adolescent licensed mental health counselor to join our private practice in Raleigh, NC. We have a professional, supportive, and collaborative work environment. As a faith-based organization, we serve our clients through top-quality, evidenced based work while offering spiritual, emotional, mental, and relational healing and renewal. We specialize in integrating clinical techniques with biblical, Christian principles through Christ-centered counseling. (Note: We only do this as requested and to the extent our clients desire.)

Position Qualifications:

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE would be motivated and strive for excellence, compassionate in their care, team oriented, personable yet professional, demonstrate flexibility and desire to grow. Additionally, the ideal client will be able to work at least two evenings a week until 8pm OR one evening until 8pm and a Saturday during daytime hours. A passion about our mission to provide Christian counseling (when requested) in combination with evidenced based treatments with young children, teens, and families is a MUST.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Successful completion of master's or doctorate degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, professional counseling, or related degree
• Full or provisional mental health license in the state of North Carolina
• Mental health experience working with children, teens, families and/or couples
• Knowledge and familiarity with evidence-based practices and treatments
• Good communication skills and the ability to work on a team and independently
• Trained in a trauma-focused evidence-based practice or willing to receive training (such as EMDR, brainspotting, ART. etc.)

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience integrating evidenced-based treatment with faith-based/Christian values and principles (as desired by clients' comfort and preference)
• Specialized training or certifications (such as TF-CBT, EMDR, CBT, PCIT, play therapy, Theraplay, sandtray, etc.) for working with children/adolescents, women, and families
