Job Overview

The Marriage & Family Pastor will shepherd the married couples, parents, and older generations of Mosaic, building out strong ministries that form healthy marriages, disciple families, and offer wise care across life stages. This pastor will be both a builder and a shepherd- designing systems for growth, care, and discipleship while also walking closely with families and couples through their unique seasons of life. This includes ministry to young marrieds, parents with children, blended families, empty nesters, and retired adults.

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-time pastoral ministry, with clear experience in marriage and family shepherding
• A love for working in teams and seeing teams thrive more than individual success
• Enthusiasm and energy that comes from an excitement to serve the Lord!
• An open heart to become close teammates with staff and church members
• Spirit led and prayerful in approach to ministry
• Tendency to engage problems creatively and solve problems with perseverance
• An excitement for learning and growth especially together
• An excellent team builder
• A drive to work hard derived from conviction from the Lord
• A hunger to see families become Christ-centered and God honoring
• An ability to teach and disciple parents in gospel-centered child-rearing
• A deep love for children and a strong desire to see them grow to love the Lord
• Seminary degree & Ordination required

Responsibilities

1. Marriage Ministry
2. 1. Build and lead a thriving marriage ministry, including premarital counseling, marriage enrichment, retreats, and mentoring
   2. Equip seasoned couples to serve as mentors for younger or struggling marriages
   3. Provide gospel-centered pastoral counseling for couples in crisis or transition
   4. Develop pathways for dating and engaged couples to grow in covenant theology and biblical intimacy

1. Family & Parenting Discipleship
   1. Create and lead parent discipleship environments to support biblical parenting, family worship, and spiritual formation in the home
   2. Partner with education ministries to create cohesive family discipleship strategies
   3. Provide pastoral care to parents navigating complex family dynamics, special needs, or prodigal children
   4. 50+ ministry oversight, support and care

1. Shepherding and Pastoral Care
   1. Shepherd older couples, retirees, and empty nesters with gospel encouragement, visitation, and discipleship
   2. Build teams of lay leaders who extend care, prayer, and relational presence to married couples and older adults
   3. Officiate weddings, lead family-focused prayer gatherings, and contribute to Mosaic's overall pastoral ministry
   4. Serve on the preaching rotation as needed

1. Pastoral Counseling and Spiritual Guidance
   1. Provide spiritual guidance for congregation members
   2. Lead and model a culture of care marked by presence, compassion and scriptural guidance

1. Leadership & Team Collaboration
   1. Work closely with other pastors to align marriage and family ministry with Mosaic's larger discipleship pathway
   2. Support pastoral initiatives that strengthen Mosaic's mission to be a multi-generational church family
   3. Organize SundayWorship with Mosaic staff
   4. Contribute to the coordination of church events
   5. Contribute to the general logistical needs of the church
