We're looking for a team player who can communicate clearly to join our Baptists On Mission Group as a full-time non-exempt Medical-Dental Ministry Assistant. On Mission together, to provide NC Baptist ministries, staff and churches with excellent financial support in a manner that honors Christ.
Medical-Dental Ministry Assistant is responsible for assisting the Medical-Dental Ministry Coordinator in ministry work pertaining to the Medical-Dental Ministry that includes two health screening buses and 3 dental buses as well as office work.
Requirements and Responsibilities
Requirements:
- Must have a technical school or equivalent with a minimum Associates Degree in a related field.
- Applicant must have at least 3 years of work experience in a related field.
Highlighted Responsibilities:
- Sending clinic and volunteer thank-you letters, issuing continuing education certificates to medical and dental professionals, and responding to phone calls and emails regarding the Medical-Dental Ministry.
- Taking inventory of medical and dental supplies, assisting in keeping all mobile units stocked with necessary materials, and maintaining organized manuals and clinical records.
- Cleaning and sanitizing mobile units after each clinic to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.

- While getting the primary holidays off (8 total), the convention goes beyond this by offering an extra day after Thanksgiving and a full week off for Christmas, which is not counted against your vacation leave.

- There may be a chance that some or all employees may be presented with an amount determined by the discretion of the Executive Committee.
Paid Parental Leave:
- Eligible employee's may receive up to two (2) weeks of paid parental leave following the birth of a child or placement of a child (adoption or foster).
- Special Short Term Disability is eligible for up to six (6) weeks of paid short-term disability leave at the rate of 100% of the employee's salary.
- These benefits provide the employee with up to eight (8) weeks of fully paid leave to care for the birth of a child.

Basic Responsibilities
Medical-Dental Ministry Assistant is responsible for assisting the Medical-Dental Ministry Coordinator in ministry work pertaining to the Medical-Dental Ministry that includes two health screening buses and 3 dental buses as well as office work.
Specific Responsibilities
- Glorifies God by involving churches and Christians in meeting human needs in Jesus'
Name through the mobile medical-dental ministry.
- Is cross-trained along with the Medical/Dental Coordinator in all aspects of mobile Dental and Health Screening unit operation.
- Communicates- Is proactive in contacting medical/dental clinic sponsors and potential sponsors to work to have meaningful clinics cross our state (increase quantity and quality of clinics).
- Communicates- Sends clinic and volunteer thank you letters after each clinic, sending continuing education certificates to dental & medical professionals, and by answering phone calls and email pertaining the Medical-Dental Ministry.
- Organization- Works with Medical-Dental Coordinator to keep manuals organized as well as scanning clinical records.
- Organization – As needed, takes inventory of medical and dental supplies for the Medical-Dental Ministry Coordinator (MDMC) to order, and assist to keep all buses stocked for upcoming clinics. Including educational materials.
- Office work – prints and labels clinical charts for the drivers. Prints Medical and dental forms to be stocked on each unit.
- Financial- assist in sending invoices and/or entering payments for clinic usages in spread sheets.
- Conducts- As needed, cleans and sanitizes mobile units after each clinic.
- Collects- Compile statistical records, clinic reports and evaluations for MDMC.
- Assists with answering the phones and other support staff responsibilities in office as
needed.
- Performs other such duties as directed by the Executive Director of BOM. (In events
such as disasters and other big BOM events, it is "all hands on deck" and we all do
whatever it takes to get the job done in a way that glorifies God.)
Skills for the Position
- Office work experience preferred; medical or dental background encouraged but not required.
- Advanced knowledge of personal computers, including both Apple and Windows platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational, relational, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, interruptions, and shifting priorities daily.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including copiers, calculators, scanners, and printers.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Must demonstrate a strong Christian character and be dedicated to the mission of Baptists on Mission in support of building a culture that is on mission together.

Physical Requirements
- Be able to sit at a desk for extended periods of time to use a computer and/or other equipment. Be able to move one's chair back and forth while sitting in it.
- Be able to move to a copier/fax to copy and send materials.
- Be able to communicate effectively.
- Be able to stand, stoop, bend knees and arms, reach for various items, lift up to 15 pounds easily, open and close file and desk drawers and be able to climb/descend stairs or operate elevators to get to other places of work. Be able to pack and lift boxes of materials needed for conferences.
- Be able to walk in and out of buildings or use items of personal equipment such as manual or motorized wheelchairs to work and/or to evacuate place of work safely during an emergency.
- Be able to move items into/out of storage areas with appropriate help when necessary.
- Must be able to understand and follow instructions. Must be able to read and understand safety signs and have good judgment skills.
- Be able to operate a vehicle safely for business travel, as required, whether in BSCNC fleet car or personal vehicle or travel by commercial transportation to and from BSCNC-related events at which attendance is required. Be able to fix a flat, lift equipment in and out of vehicles, safely check battery cables, safely fill the vehicle or equipment with fuels or know when to get someone to help with these tasks.
