Job Overview
The function of the Medical Director is to: oversee the medical department at Timothy Hill; ensure that all necessary medical and behavioral health services are provided to foster the health of the residents; ensure that applications for all medical-related programs are properly submitted; ensure that all governing medical policies and procedures are followed, and to provide oversight and supervision within the scope of practice to Nursing and Licensed Behavior Health Practitioner (LBHSP) staff.

Seeking a Medical Director who will also function as a Nurse Practioner.

Supervision services may include:
- Reviewing all health care information and medical records;
- Working with the direct treatment providers to establish treatment goals for children, utilizing historical and currently available information;
- Prescription and non-prescription medication consultation according to the scope of practice of the practitioner;
- Medical eligibility recommendations for foster care rates pertaining to health care conditions;
- Advising the local department of social services commissioners and the VFCA executive directors regarding the medical needs of the children in their care and/or care and custody;
- Reviewing and approving required medical and behavioral health forms;
- Meeting and communicating with biological families, guardians, foster families, and caseworkers;
- Clinical supervision of medical and behavioral health staff according to the scope of practice of the practitioner in compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations to include NYSED requirements where applicable;
- Quality oversight and improvement services;
- Emergency medical and behavioral health consultation services; and
- Maintain the appropriate Substance Class 3A Institutional Dispenser Licenses for Timothy Hill.
- Must have a high level of integrity and ability to work with confidential information.
- Must be flexible, self-motivated, and able to follow through on tasks and projects.
- Must have qualifications that comport with the ability to clinically supervise.
- Nursing and Licensed Behavioral Health Practitioners (LPHP) staff who are within their scope of practice. (29-I).
- Must be a Nurse Practitioner (29-I).
- Must complete mandated Reporter Training. (29-I).
- Must be in compliance with NYSED licensing requirements. (29-I).
- Must hold a current certification by the American Red Cross (or equivalent) in First.
- Aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. (29-I).
- Must hold a Therapeutic Crisis Intervention certification.
- Note: The above must be verified and/or completed, prior to engaging directly in the care and supervision of children. (29-I).
- NYS Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR).
- NYS Sex Offender Registry (SOR).
- NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Fingerprinting.
- NYS Justice Center Staff Exclusion List (SEL).
- NYS OMIG Medicaid Exclusion List.
