Job Overview
Mentors play a critical role in the development of the children at the Ranch as they assist the Houseparents in running the home and discipling the students. It is a life-on-life ministry where you will spend quality time with students, oversee recreation, tutor 1-3 students, attend chapel, and help with making meals. As you participate in the mission of seeing every child reach his or her full potential, you will likewise grow tremendously as you seek to apply God's Word in a Christ-centered setting.
Job Description
Responsibilities
-Provide Consistent loving discipline and affirmation for students.
-Continue care of the students during Houseparent's days off including the preparation of meals.
-Participate in house meetings, staff meetings, trainings, chapel and other related activities
-Tutor/teach 1-3 students in daily academics (1-6th Grade)
-Assist in recreation supervision in the afternoons.
-Provide supervision of children as they complete daily tasks: chores, laundry, room cleaning, and kitchen duties
-Work with your co-mentor in teaching evening devotions when the House Dad is absent.
Qualifications
-Follower of Christ and agree with the WVR Statement of Faith
-Team player – must support, encourage, and cooperate with Houseparent and Counseling Center
-Flexible and adaptable. Able to adjust to sudden schedule changes.
-Be at least 18 with a drivers license.
-Have written spiritual and personal references.
