Middle School Ministry Assistant Coordinator

Job Description:

The Middle School Assistant Coordinator is part of the Student Ministry team of Spanish River Church. The purpose of this position specifically involves oversight and co-leadership of the discipleship to all middle school students. A pre-employment drug screening is required for all candidates offered employment.

Responsibilities:

• Help develop and carry out the vision of the Middle School
• Assists in the planning and execution of Middle School Campus Night, small groups, events, First Priority in the public middle schools, weekend trips, and
• Serves as one of the teachers at Middle School Campus Night as a means of evangelizing and discipling.
• Create and maintain meaningful relationships with the students and their families, leading them to engage more deeply with Christ, and have a greater commitment to the church.

• Works closely with the Middle School Coordinator to supervise, train, and recruit volunteers for the Middle School Ministry.
• Assists in developing small group ministry within the Middle School, providing resources for small group leaders, leading a small group, and shepherding small group leaders.
• Organize and update the student roster weekly in
• Facilitate effective communication of events, summer camp, trips, and Campus Night using Arena.

• As part of Student Ministry's outreach and discipleship efforts, the coordinator will assist in leading students on weekends, and camps, along with the Middle School Coordinator and any other ministry staff requested to attend. Their responsibilities on the trips include acting as a spiritual mentor, deepening

Christ-centered relationships with the students, and acting as a supervisor for the trips.

• Assists in the development and implementation of the summer internship program, visiting college ministries in the area to identify and recruit interns, and working with the High School Coordinators to recruit high school students.

Position Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong teaching ability and biblical knowledge, with the skills to engage and inspire middle school students.
• Minimum of 2 years of Student Ministry experience, preferably with middle school students and their families.
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Relational with 6th-8th grade students
• Strong verbal and written communication
