Principal Function
The Minister of Missions and Mobilization provides leadership in missions education for adults, youth, and children, as well as outreach involvement, and the mobilization of ministry teams. This role ensures that Shiloh Baptist Church will be effectively engaged in local ministry and cross-cultural missions.
Time Commitment
10–20 hours per week40 on-campus Sundays per year8 off-campus Sundays per year 4 for mission activities representing Shiloh4 for research such as observing ministries and identifying mission projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Lead Missions Education – Work with the Senior Pastor and other ministry staff to develop and implement a church-wide missions education program for adults, youth, and children.
- Lead Missions and Compassion Ministry Programs – Plan and lead mission projects, including local and international trips, and provide direction and oversight for our community and compassion ministry programs.
- Establish and Chair a Missions & Mobilization Council, a coordination and advisory group meeting quarterly to create, guide, and direct outreach-focused ministry teams and compassion ministry teams and volunteer mobilization.
- Guide Mission Budget Planning and Execution Oversee and support team leaders in developing and managing annual budgets for various missions categories. Provide guidance in recommending and executing mission funding strategies.
- Maintain and Strengthen Strategic Missions and Ministry Partnerships – Engaging with the Wilson County Baptist Association, the Tennessee Baptist Convention, and Southern Baptist mission efforts to align Shiloh's work with broader missional initiatives, as well as other organizations such as Everyone's Wilson.
- Strengthen Leadership Development for Missions – Help identify and equip individuals for missional leadership. Support and refine Shiloh's mentorship program to help develop future mission leaders.
- Serve as Ordained Ministerial Staff Occasionally preach, teach, or lead devotionals. Provide pastoral oversight and spiritual support for those involved in missions and compassion ministry activities.
Qualifications
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a passion for missions and outreach.
- Preferably ordained or eligible for ordination within the Southern Baptists.
- Experience in missions, outreach coordination, or ministry leadership.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, capable of mobilizing volunteers.
- Ability to develop partnerships and engage the church in mission efforts.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Able to work in a Ministry Team environment.
Salary
$14,000 – $26,000The starting salary will be based on experience and qualifications, with only highly experienced candidates considered for the full amount.
