General

· Participate in all church staff meetings, retreats, and fellowships in order to foster teamwork, communication, and unity, as well as for personal and ministerial accountability

· Participate in monthly Deacons Ministry meetings to give updates and progression of the Student and Family Ministry, as well as for personal and ministerial accountability

· Participate in churchwide events and activities when appropriate and germane to the role of the Minister of Students and Families

· Participate in community events and activities as a representative of Arrowwood Baptist Church when appropriate (i.e. FCA, school athletic events, and CADA events)

· Coordinate all activities of the Student and Family Ministries with the church calendar and promote all activities in church publications (church website, newsletter, weekly bulletin, etc.)

· Counsel youth related to their spiritual life and discipleship, college choice, vocation selection, life-mate choices, social and family relationships, etc.

Student Ministry

· Plan, direct, conduct, and evaluate ) a comprehensive student/youth ministry taking into consideration the spiritual, physical, recreational, social, vocational, and overall development of youth, and support college students as well.

· Direct the teaching programs of the youth and college divisions (Sunday School, Discipleship, Missions Organizations, Vacation Bible School) in cooperation with the appropriate directors

· Coordinate with the Youth Council on a regular basis for support, guidance, unity, and ministerial accountability

· Assimilate the youth to the overall life of the church and the church to the needs of the youth. Strive to enlist youth participation in worship, Bible study, prayer, and other Christian disciplines

· Assimilate youth to special programs of spiritual growth and fellowship such as mission activities/ trips, church projects, camps, retreats, meetings, etc.

· Share Christ with lost and unchurched youth, leading them to salvation, true discipleship, and church membership; helping them grow spiritually, and providing opportunities for Christian ministry

· Train youth to share their faith, discover and use their spiritual gifts, and provide opportunities for them to practice these in outreach and missions

· Visit the middle school and high school campuses and coordinate with BCM at our college campuses, supporting FCA efforts, and to make personal contact with students at school and extra-curricular activities in which they are involved

· Maintain personal relationships with youth in all phases of the ministry, with emphasis on visits in homes with young people and their families

· Evaluate, and recommend changes in the Student and Family Ministry as needed for organization, use of space, equipment, policies and procedures, materials, programs, curriculum, education needs, funding, etc. to be brought to the appropriate committee

Family Ministry

· Work with the Children's Ministry to strengthen the bridge between the children's ministry and the student ministry

· In conjunction with pastor and deacons, encourage return participation of guests to the church by contacting and visiting families and/or individuals during the first week after being guests of Arrowwood Baptist Church

· Encourage and assist attending church members who have immediate family members who do not attend church

· Develop and oversee the greeting and assimilation of guests to the church and new members in conjunction with pastor and deacons

· Provide opportunities in order to help strengthen church and community families, marriages, and parenting relationships through workshops, roundtables, seminars, retreats, and other events

· Incorporate and oversee a ministry of developing intergenerational relationships within the church family

· Assist the pastor and utilize the deacons in the visitation to guests and members who are hospitalized, homebound, and bereaved

SALARY RANGE

· $50,000 – $60,000 annually
