Rocky Bayou Baptist Church in Niceville, Florida is prayerfully searching to fill the role of Minister of Students and Young Adults. He will play a vital role in the spiritual growth of our students between 7th and 12th grades by partnering with parents and training a ministry team to promote discipleship, service, and evangelistic initiatives. He will equip students and their families with tools to build and share their faith. He will also minister to young adults as they transition out of high school and who are either in college or pursuing their career by shepherding them towards spiritual maturity and participatory church membership, and aiding them to build mentoring relationships with mature believers in our church. Opportunities associated with this position include working with over one hundred students and an existing volunteer student ministry team. Additionally, this position provides opportunities to learn and grow as one of our pastors is a published author with experience in missions, preaching, and practical outreach; and the other pastor has experience in discipleship, preaching, and administration.

Personal Attributes & Qualifications– Possess a deep love for Jesus, His church, and a passion for a team approach in ministry– Personally maintain a growing devotional life of Word intake and prayer and lead his family in a growing pursuit of the centrality of Christ in the home. The ideal candidate would maintain regular, ongoing accountability relationships including, but not limited to, our elders. An attitude of joyful and mutual submission to the elders is required.– Meet the biblical qualifications of an elder/pastor as established in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-5. The desire of the RBBC elders is the man in this position would have the character and spiritual maturity necessary to become an elder. He will be hired as a Minister (non-elder), and following a period of mentoring and demonstrating these biblical qualifications to the elders and the church body, he will join the elder team. – Set a relational tone of grace and humility in all interactions– Demonstrate a servant's heart, a strong work ethic, and initiative in a variety of contexts– Before applying, he should be reformed theologically. He should agree with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 and the RBBC Elders' Clarifying Affirmations of the Baptist Faith & Message (available on our church website).– A degree from an accredited seminary or Christian college and/or proven experience is required.

Position Description1. Lead Student Ministry · Oversee Bible Teaching to Students o Serve as the primary Bible teacher for the Student Ministry at weekly gatherings on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights o Coordinate and equip other teachers to help teach the Bible to students on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights · Shepherd the Student Ministry Team o Recruit, lead, and develop team members to assist in building discipleship relationships with students o Delegate tasks to student ministry team leaders o Establish consistent team meetings for ministry planning, training, accountability, feedback, and encouragement · Other Aspects of Student Ministry o Develop a student ministry strategy that integrates well with our church's overall vision and ministry strategy o Partner with parents to help them be the primary disciple-makers of their students o Encourage student discipleship ministry (peer-to-peer) o Plan student activities (with assistance from the Student Ministry team) o Plan and lead students in outreach around our local community o Manage the Student Ministry budget
