MINISTER OF YOUTH & MEDIA

MINISTRY POSITION DESCRIPTION

Friendship Baptist Church, in Paducah, Kentucky, is seeking a Full-Time Minister of Youth & Media to lead students grade six through twelve and their families as well as assisting with the media needs of the church. This ministry team member will focus primarily on reaching, serving, and equipping students and families to faithfully follow Jesus.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AS MINISTRY STAFF MEMBER

Continue to develop a heart for God and a teachable spirit.Fulfill God's calling as a servant within the body of Christ.Minister to the church and community by engaging in ministry with a servant's heart.Serve as an effective member of the Ministry Leadership Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES AS A MINISTER OF YOUTH & MEDIA

Build Christ-centered relationships with students in grades six through twelve.Lead students and their parents to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ through evangelism, discipleship, worship, prayer, ministry, and missions.Provide leadership and direction for all ongoing student ministries as well as special ministry events such as retreats, mission experiences, and outreach events.Plan and direct evangelistic opportunities for students and their families at least quarterly.Recruit, develop, and equip adult volunteers in the Youth Ministry. Communicate effectively with parents and ministry volunteers.Engage students and parents outside of church through school and community activities whenever possible.Remain informed on best practices and current trends in student ministry and develop strategies to engage with students and families.Develop annual ministry goals, budget, and calendar.Proficient in graphic design and video production for church publications and platforms.

QUALIFICATIONS

Calling and passion for serving the Lord, students, and families.Ability to take both initiative and direction and to work enthusiastically as a ministry team member.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail.Three to five years of experience working with students in a ministry environment is preferred.A master's degree from a Southern Baptist Convention seminary is preferred.Must be in agreement with the mission and strategy of Friendship to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus.

The city has a strong focus on the arts and is home to the Carson Center, which features performances both local and from all over the world. There are also many different educational opportunities including both city and county public school systems, private school options, thriving homeschool co-ops, the local community college, and Murray State less than an hour away. Paducah offers many family-friendly activities, such as its downtown Farmers Market and BBQ on the River Festival. For outdoor enthusiasts, Paducah is only about a half hour away from the scenic Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.
