Minister of Youth & Children

Position Overview:The Minister of Youth and Children will lead and oversee the ministries of the church targeting children (birth through elementary school) and youth (middle school through college). The role emphasizes spiritual formation, discipleship, leadership development, and nurturing Christ-centered relationships with young people and their families. This position requires a heart for children and youth, a passion for outreach, and a commitment to creating engaging, age-appropriate environments for spiritual growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Spiritual Leadership:● Plan and lead and/or oversee weekly children's church, youth worship services, Bible studies, and discipleship programs tailored to each age group.

● Develop age-appropriate curricula and activities that promote biblical literacy and spiritual growth for children and youth.

● Organize and oversee seasonal and special children/Youth events (e.g., VBS, retreats, mission trips, holiday programs).

Program Development:● Design and implement comprehensive ministry programs for both children and youth, focusing on teaching, mentorship, leadership training, service opportunities, and faith development.

● Create safe, welcoming, and dynamic environments for kids and teens to explore and grow in their faith.

Relational Ministry:● Cultivate strong, supportive relationships with children, youth, parents, and volunteers.

● Offer pastoral care, counseling, and mentorship to children and youth as needed.

● Encourage parental involvement and equip families to disciple their children at home.

Team Management:● Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and interns for both children's and youth ministries.

● Work collaboratively and in unity with church staff and leadership to ensure alignment with the church's overall mission and vision.

Administration:● Manage ministry budgets and maintain records for events, attendance, and safety compliance.

● Ensure effective communication with families through bulletins, emails, social media, and digital platforms.

● Maintain appropriate safety protocols, including background checks and child protection policies.

Multimedia & A/V Capabilities:● Create visual and multimedia content as needed for all Youth/Children services.

● Utilize audio/video production and live streaming to expand digital engagement.

● Ensure age-appropriate digital presence that reflects the mission and values of the ministry.

Qualifications/Education:● A committed Christian with a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a calling to ministry with young people.

● Bachelor's degree in children's ministry, youth ministry, education, theology, or a related field (seminary education is a plus).

● Experience in both children's and youth ministry preferred.

● Strong organizational and communication skills with an ability to connect with children, teens, and families.

● Skilled in the use of multimedia tools, social media, and digital communication platforms.
