Principal Function:

Coordinating volunteers in ministry to both youth and their families to assist in

spiritual growth for all.

Working Relationships:

Reports to the Pastor and coordinates the Youth Advisory Team.

Job Classification:

This position is exempt and fulltime.

Responsibilities for Youth: Work with the Youth Advisory Team to plan, implement and evaluate a balanced studentministry program through the equipping of volunteers. Organize and coordinate a balanced approach to student ministry that includes Bible study,discipleship training, outreach, recreation, fellowship, mission action and music. Provide Christian guidance and pastoral care to meet the special needs of young people and their parents. Keep up-to-date on the latest educational methods and share them with the workers. Prepare and administer the student ministry budget. Be available nights and weekends for youth ministry events as well as to work with the pastor inmaking emergency pastoral care visits as needed. Visit prospects and members related to student ministry and young adults. Comply with all established church policies and procedures as well as all applicable federal and state laws. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Requires commitment to Biblical Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally. Strong relational skills to make individuals feel loved regardless of their race or socio-economic background. A college degree preferred. 3-5 years of experience in a youth church staff or other youth-related position preferred. Requires ability to speak confidently before groups. Requires quality leadership and administrative skills. Requires basic ability to use computer software, such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel or equivalent. Requires passing criminal, financial, sexual misconduct background checks and drug test before and during employment.
