About the Minister to Students
Christ Church Vienna is seeking a full-time Minister to Students (also referred to as Student Ministry Director or Minister / Missionary to Students) who will assume leadership and responsibility for a dynamic and missional student ministry focusing on Middle School (6th-8th Grade) and High School (9th-12th Grade) students.
- Should understand the suburban teen context and the unique pressures students face.
- Must be self-aware and adaptable, able to adjust to the culture and effectively share the gospel.
- Prior ministry involvement is key:
- Experience in leading student ministries or small groups.
- Demonstrated discipleship impact (e.g., number of students discipled over time).
- RUF, college ministry, or metropolitan context experience is highly valued.
- Not required to be Anglican—emphasis should be on ministry vision over denominational identity.
The Minister to Students's responsibilities include:
- Shepherding and overseeing weekly direct ministry for both Middle School and High School students, including a specific focus on summer and school year seasons.
- Encouraging, casting vision for, and shepherding student leaders involved in small group discipleship.
- Collaborating with existing volunteer leaders for weekly BEYOND gatherings (Worship/Bible Study/Community building) and investing in HS small group leaders.
- Planning, preparing, communicating, and executing outreach events, camp experiences, weekend retreats, and summer missions/outreach ministry.
- Integrating small groups and local/short-term missions is critical to spiritual formation.
- Communicating in real-time with church staff, students, parents, and all stakeholders, and managing the ministry website, social media, and other communication outlets.
- Operating in complete adherence and obedience to Child Protection Protocols established by CCV, The Diocese of the Mid Atlantic (DOMA), and the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA).
- Collaborating with CCV mission staff for summer mission planning, preparation, fundraising, and execution.
- Time Allocation: 50% of time devoted to students within the congregation and 50% dedicated to reaching out and ministering to students in the community not yet in the congregation.

Education and Experience
- BS/BA College Req.
- At least 2 years of working in a ministry (church or nonprofit) setting is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to communicate biblical truths and teach students, as well as communicate in written and verbal ways with adults and parents.
- Ability to manage a ministry budget and report to leadership. The annual budget for the department is $50,000.
- Proven ability to lead a Bible study/small group, pray with students and parents, and build/maintain relationships with church leadership, parents, outside ministry partners, and community stakeholders.
- Basic office technology skills: Microsoft Office Suite, database, website, spreadsheets, and social media skills.
- Planning and organizational skills to lead recurring programs, special events, trainings, and oversee/develop adult and teenage volunteers.
- Theologically leaning Reformed and/or Presbyterian
