MINISTRY ASSISTANT Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Personal testimony of salvation
· Agrees and supports the Baptist Faith and Message (2000)
· Minimum of High School diploma
· Communication and organizational skills
· Math and computer skills
ACCOUNTABLE TO:
· Pastor
· Personnel Committee
· Finance Committee (for financial responsibilities)
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
· Assist the pastoral staff, department heads, and chairs of each committee.
· Coordinating overall functions of church office.
· Implementing policies and procedures related to receiving, accounting, disbursing, and recording church monies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Serve as receptionist and maintain office environment.
· Maintain the church calendar, schedule facility use, and provide and record information (time, place, department, class or responsible party, contact info., etc.) on upcoming events for the monthly calendar and weekly bulletin.
· Prepare weekly worship bulletin with information for upcoming events and regular weekly activities, and also prepare weekly prayer list.
· Mail as needed, assisting pastor, staff, and deacons with information and correspondence.
· Disseminate all information to relevant individuals including special needs and ministry opportunities such as sickness, death, etc.
· Properly record financial information as required by law and this church, including but not limited to year-end W2 and 1099 forms, pay bills by accurately preparing and recording checks and online payments.
· Prepare, along with the chairman of trustees, information required by church's insurance companies.
· Maintain stewardship records and generate reports to the finance committee as required and requested.
· Maintain records of designated gifts.
· Work with appropriate volunteers to record weekly offerings and contributions.
· Maintain confidentiality of ALL information learned and used.
· Maintain and update social media accounts and church website regularly (training provided).
· Edit and upload service videos (training provided).
· Perform other duties as needed and requested by the pastor and the church.
COMPENSATION:
· This position is an hourly, part-time position. General times of work will be Monday – Thursday, 8am – 2pm (regular business hours).
· Salary will range from $12-$15, commensurate on experience and qualifications, pending church approval.
· Benefits include two weeks (48 hours) vacation/sick leave after one year served. Prior to one year of service, pay will only be for the hours worked.
· Holidays as per the by-laws.
