Ministry Assistant – FinancialFull time with benefits Function:The Financial Ministry Assistant is responsible for helping maintain the church financial records, preparing financial reports, processing church offering and deposits, and providing office support to the church ministerial staff. Relationships:The Financial Ministry Assistant reports to and is supervised by the Director of Media & Administration, and is ultimately responsible to the Senior Pastor, the Personnel Committee, and the members of CBC. The Financial Ministry Assistant works closely with the Board of Directors to prepare their financial statements and meeting agendas. Qualifications:SpiritualA committed follower of Christ who feels called by God to serve in church ministry. ExperienceFinancial clerical experience or related financial degree desired and accounting acumen preferred Computer skills including Microsoft applications, email, financial computer applications, and database applications CharacterTrustworthy, Dependable, Confidential, Caring, Patient Duties & Responsibilities:The Financial Ministry Assistant has the following duties and responsibilities: GeneralPerform basic clerical tasksEstablish and maintain paper, electronic, and/or digital filesPrepare any financial correspondence or information requestsMaintain office equipment and records FinancialReceive, count and deposit church offerings and miscellaneous depositsPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for Business Meetings and Board of DirectorsReceive and process Purchase Orders from staffOrganize monthly credit card statements and pay from appropriate account line itemsReceive and answer questions about financial mattersMaintain appropriate files of invoices, correspondence, and reportsBudget PreparationManage benefits, including employee insuranceAssist in payrollManage building insurance claims and recordsSupport periodic audits Other duties as assigned by the Director of Media & Administration or the Senior Pastor Work Schedule & Office Hours:For the purpose of carrying out the duties and responsibilities set forth in this jobdescription, the Financial Ministry Assistant's work week shall consist of 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, unless circumstances change (vacation, holidays, sickness of other Ministry Assistants). The schedule shall be determined by the Director of Media & Administration and the Personnel Committee upon hire. The normal office hours for the church office are Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM. Benefits:Retirement matching up to 5%Paid time off starting at 2 weeks per yearEmployee health insurance Salary:After a 90 day introductory period based on a salary of $36,000, the starting salary range begins at $42,500 and is based on previous experience.
