JOB DESCRIPTION // Full-Time Ministry Resident

QUALIFICATIONS 

Those outlined in Scripture of an elder, agreement to King’s Church’s Statement of Basic Beliefs, agreement with Nashville Statement on Biblical Sexuality, Membership at King’s Church, and the specific skills listed below.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Four year college degree is required
• Willingness to become seminary trained or seminary trained preferred
• Ability to lead and generate excitement among the congregation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A man discerning whether to become an elder/pastor
• Theological alignment with our Statement of Basic Beliefs
• Philosophical alignment with our Vision, Mission, and Core Values
• Team player willing and eager to fulfill a wide range of responsibilities
• Possesses a posture of humility and a hunger to grow as a leader and Christian

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
• Rudimentary ability to counsel and shepherd
• Flexibility to quickly adapt to changes throughout the day and week
• Willingness to learn Website Management Software, Church Management Software, Social Media Utilization, and minor Graphic Design
• Rudimentary ability to lead others, cast vision, and execute plans
• Strong disciple-making potential

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ministry & Operations

• • Participating in weekly staff meetings & recurring meetings with the pastoral staff
  • Supervision of King’s Church outreach and missions ministries, including leader recruitment, retention and event planning and execution
  • Assisting in the supervision and leadership of Sunday morning teams
  • Occasional teaching opportunities as determined by the pastors
  • Leading a weekly small group
  • Assisting with weekly internal communications
  • Assist in maintaining our internal database in Planning Center 
  • Participation in weekly EQUIP Courses
  • Participation in weekly reading, Bible Study, and skill-building meetings with member(s) of staff
  • Assist in developing new initiatives and new ministries at King’s Church

EXPECTATIONS & EMPLOYMENT 

• The Pastoral Resident reports directly to staff pastors
• Mandatory in person office hours Tuesday – Friday 
• Can request off up to three Sundays per year 
• Two weeks paid time off
• 40+ hours per week 
• $48,000/ yearly salary + healthcare benefits
