Do you aspire to ministry in the local church?

The Residency at Providence is a nine-month program designed to help men and women who are interested in vocational ministry strengthen their gifts and better understand their aspirations. The Residency combines practical, hands-on experience with biblical training and development.

• Hands-On Job Experience: As a resident, you will spend the majority of your time working in a particular staff department, learning what it takes to run an effective ministry within the local church.
• Weekly Cohort Meetings: Each week, you'll meet with other residents to learn more about the various ministries in the church and dig deeper into specific theological concepts that impact church leaders.
• Development: On a monthly basis, you will meet for personalized coaching sessions to help you hone specific skills, reflect on your experience, and discern what you're discovering about your own calling.
• Homework Assignments: Expect to do a lot of reading and other assignments set by the Equipping Pastor.

Hours and Benefits

Residents work part-time (20 hours/week) as part of the Providence staff team. Benefits are not offered.

Job Description

Each Ministry Resident will play a supporting role in the ministry of Providence Church as they are equipped for and serve in vocational ministry.

Residency Tracks

There are so many opportunities to serve in vocational ministry. As part of the Residency, you will choose a department where you'd like to serve and learn more about what it's like to work in that field. A Residents' weekly schedule and ministry responsibilities will be determined by the ministry team you are placed on. Available tracks include:

• Groups and Connections
• Care
• Kids
• Local and Global Missions
• Equipping
• Students
• Young Adults
• Worship/Production

Requirements

• Application submission and interview is required.
• Church Membership: If you are not already a member of the church, you will be expected to join Providence, adhere to the membership covenant, and play a role in the life of the congregation.
• Residents are expected to work on-campus at Providence. While you may occasionally get to do some work at home, you should expect to spend most of your time at the church.
