Mission Administrator
Job Overview
The Mission Administrator will assist the Director of Global Mission administratively and aid them in communicating to the church what is happening in mission locally and internationally.
Job Description
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Global Mission
- Maintain all mission records, annual reports, missionary correspondence, and policy files.
- Act as the point of first contact for members inquiring about mission.
- Serve as a liaison between the Global Mission Group and the Sunday school class Missionary Advocate and other church missionary groups.
- Act as secretary for the Global Mission Group, preparing agendas and minutes of meetings.
- Coordinate arrangements with visiting missionaries coming to the church throughout the year, including housing, speaking, hospitality, transportation, etc.
- Assist with the annual Global Mission Conference, including organizing various teams for program arrangements, scheduling missionaries, hospitality, working with other departments such as children's ministry to develop new formats for the conference, etc.
- Spend time in study, reading, and preparation for events and training.
- Attend Global Mission Group Leadership Meetings and all Global Mission Group meetings.
- Local Outreach
- Maintain mission records, missionary correspondence, annual reports, and policy files as needed.
- Maintain registrations of special events or trainings.
- Help recruit, organize, and coordinate volunteers and maintain a volunteer database.
- Produce and maintain general publicity, social media content, and promotional materials.
- Assist with all major outreach events, i.e., ESL Summer Camp, Come Serve With Us (summer and holiday), etc.
- Schedule the use of facilities, buses, and other resources for Local Outreach events.
- Attend ministry-related meetings as assigned.
- Short-Term Mission Trips
- Assist with the oversight of the administrative aspects of all short-term trips.
- Ensure that short-term mission trip participants have completed all required paperwork.
- Maintain short-term trip up-to-date information on the website about trip dates, prayer requests, and reports.
- Assist the team leader of the Training & Trips team as needed
- Other
- Remain in compliance with the Cedar Springs Employee Handbook and Staff Covenant.
- Other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods of time.
