Missions Director/Minister/Pastor at Seymour First Baptist Church – Seymour, Tennessee Job Description: Missions Director/Minister/Pastor Principal Function The Missions Director/Minister/Pastor is responsible to work with the church and Pastor to plan, coordinate, direct, and evaluate missions (local, state, and international) within the life of Seymour First Baptist Church. Responsibilities 1. Support current vision for missions within the life of Seymour First Baptist Church 2. Lead and direct the Missions Committee in planning, conducting, and evaluation of mission partnerships 3. Plan, administer, and promote all activities of the MVP Sports program 4. Recruit and train coaches, referees, and other volunteers involved in the MVP Sports program 5. Enlist and train mission team members, with the help of the ministry staff and Missions Committee 6. Communicate what is needed to participate in missions successfully to staff, deacons, church leaders, committees, and the church body, including physical needs, prayer needs, and other ministry opportunities 7. Participation and attendance at weekly staff meetings 8. Oversee and administer appropriate budgets 9. Expanded Job Description Overview Seymour First Baptist Church, a vibrant and growing congregation in the heart of Seymour, Tennessee, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Missions Director/Minister/Pastor (D/M/P) to lead our missions ministry. The title and scope of this role will be tailored to the candidate's experience, qualifications, and sense of calling. We are looking for an individual who feels called to inspire, equip, and mobilize our church to engage in local, national, and global missions, fostering a heart for service and outreach rooted in the Gospel. Specifics of Key Responsibilities Support the current vision for missions within the life of Seymour First Baptist Church. Provide leadership and direction for the Missions Committee in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all mission efforts and partnerships. Oversee the MVP Sports Ministry, including the administration and promotion of all MVP Sports Ministry activities. The MVP Sports Ministry of Seymour FBC seeks to share the love of Christ with the community while also providing kids (ages 4 years – 13 years) an opportunity to learn teamwork and the basic skills of soccer. We offer a Fall and Spring season each year. These seasons span roughly 8-10 weeks each including practice time: This includes: Recruiting and training coaches, referees, and volunteers. Organizing and executing Fall and Spring leagues serving children ages 4–13. Providing a spiritual emphasis and seeking to move participants in a soccer ministry to participants in the Kingdom. Enlist, train, and prepare mission team members for active involvement in short-term and long-term projects. Promote missions within the congregation by communicating physical, financial, and prayer needs. Collaborate with pastoral staff and attend weekly staff meetings. Manage and steward missions-related budgets and resources effectively. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor. Consistent commitment to Bible reading, study, prayer and sanctification as a Christian in all facets of life. A believer who holds a passionate and firm understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A commitment to lead or otherwise participate in SFBC D-Groups (Discipleship Groups). A person who meets the Biblical qualifications for leadership within the church (1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1), but who is also growing in character, knowledge, and skill. Agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. A servant leader and teammate who demonstrates genuine humility as evidenced by the ability to listen and work with people from all walks of life. Depending upon the experience, qualifications, and sense of calling, the D/M/P will work in partnership with and under the authority of the SFBC Discipleship Pastor and Lead Pastor.
