Missions Director

Job Overview

The Missions Director will cultivate a global and local missions culture at Mosaic that is theologically grounded, relationally engaged, and strategically mobilized. This individual will equip the church to pray, give, go, and send in alignment with our vision to see the nations reached and our neighbors loved with the gospel. The director will oversee Mosaic's missions partnerships, organize trips and training, and shepherd both short- and long-term missionaries, while embedding a missional mindset across all of Mosaic's ministries.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in missions work, cross-cultural ministry, or church-based missions leadership
  • A deep love for the global Church and a strong grasp of biblical missions theology
  • Proven ability to organize trips, events, and campaigns while managing multiple relationships and logistical details
  • Strong relational skills—able to shepherd, encourage, and mobilize people from all backgrounds
  • Missional heart, strategic mind, and pastoral presence
  • Comfortable teaching, leading prayer gatherings, and mobilizing volunteers
  • Strength in leading teams, developing team members and empowering others

Job Description

  1. Global Mission Engagement
    1. Lead the Mosaic Missions Committee to oversee and catalyze a heart for missions
    2. Organize and lead short-term mission trips annually, preparing teams with theological training, cultural preparation, and post-trip debriefs
    3. Facilitate cross-cultural awareness and prayer rhythms within the congregation to deepen engagement with God's heart for the nations
    4. Collaborate with elders to steward the global missions budget with faithfulness, clarity, and transparency

  1. Cultivating Missions Culture
    1. Organize Mosaic's annual Missions Month with thematic alignment, missionary speakers, prayer nights, and giving campaigns
    2. Develop pathways for members to discern and pursue short-term missions, long-term cross-cultural work, or local justice ministries
    3. Provide regular training and teaching opportunities on missions theology, spiritual formation for missionaries, and the missional heartbeat of God
    4. Work with the Communications team to highlight missions stories, updates, and calls to action throughout the year

  1. Missionary Care and Accountability
    1. Identify, develop, and maintain strong relationships with global mission partners (missionaries, church planters, organizations)
    2. Lead the Mission Committee in the care of Mosaic's long-term missionary partners, including regular communication, financial oversight, and spiritual encouragement
    3. Engage with missions organizations for oversight, accountability and encouragement of Mosaic's commissioned long term missionaries

  1. Team Collaboration
    1. Organize Sunday Worship with Mosaic staff
    2. Contribute to the coordination of church events
    3. Contribute to the general logistical needs of the church
