Job Description:

Overview: Grace Community Church of Livingston is a congregation committed to glorifying God through faithful worship, the preaching of His Word, and the proclamation of the gospel. The Music Leader will play a key role in planning, leading, and overseeing music that reflects the church's theological convictions and enriches congregational worship.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Worship Planning and Leadership
   • Plan and lead Christ-centered, biblically sound worship services in coordination with the Senior Pastor/Elders.
   • Select songs, hymns, and other musical elements that align with Scripture and the sermon themes.
   • Lead the congregation in singing to foster meaningful, participatory worship.
2. Team Development and Coordination
   • Recruit, train, and oversee a team of musicians and vocalists committed to musical excellence and biblical worship.
   • Conduct regular rehearsals to prepare for Sunday services and special events.
   • Provide spiritual encouragement and mentorship to team members.
3. Administration
   • Organize and maintain music resources, including sheet music, chord charts, and audio/visual elements.
   • Manage the worship team schedule and ensure coverage for services.
   • Coordinate with the church's audio-visual team to ensure high-quality sound and projection during services.
4. Special Services and Events
   • Plan and lead music for special services, such as Good Friday, Christmas Eve, and other church gatherings.
   • Collaborate with other ministries (e.g., children's or youth ministries) to support their musical needs as appropriate.
5. Congregational Engagement
   • Encourage congregational singing as a primary means of worship.
   • Introduce new hymns and songs thoughtfully and with appropriate teaching to ensure congregational understanding and participation.
   • Promote a culture of worship that emphasizes the glory of God and the centrality of Christ in all things.

Position Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, marked by a life of prayer, Bible study, and service.
• Agreement with the doctrinal statement and mission of Grace Community Church.
• Musical proficiency in singing and playing at least one instrument (guitar or piano preferred).
• Experience leading congregational worship in a church setting (preferred).
• Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others.
• A heart for worship and a commitment to glorifying God through music.
