Next Gen Pastor – The Orchard ChurchPosition OverviewThe Next Gen Pastor is a full-time ministerial position reporting to the Lead Pastor. This role is responsible for providing a balanced program of ministry to children, students, and college-age individuals by equipping staff members in PreK, Kids, and Student ministries while primarily focusing on college student discipleship. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong personal faith and commitment to developing the next generation of disciples.

Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the ministry team leader for children, student, and college ministries through building, motivating, and leading in accordance with The Orchard Church's core values, mission, and visionEquip and provide leadership and development for PreK, Kids, and Student ministry staff members and programsContinue development, implement changes, and grow a comprehensive college ministry programCreate discipleship strategies specific to younger generationsSupport and enhance family ministry initiativesManage, develop, and maintain annual operational budgets for Next Gen ministry areasDevelop lay-leaders to help manage all responsibilities in alignment with Ephesians 4:11-12Plan specific ministry activities designed to reach college students and younger generations

Other Duties & ResponsibilitiesRecruit church members and guests to attend next generation ministry programsMaintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer and meditationMaintain proper priorities in your home and be a spiritual leader to your spouse and children, if applicableBe actively involved in the making of disciplesAssess the effectiveness of ministry activities and programs and make changes as neededMaintain wise stewardship of all God's resources

QualificationsPreferred Licensed or Ordained MinisterEvidence of moral character and a lifestyle that is consistent with that of The Orchard Church's Constitution, Bylaws and Statement of FaithMinimum of 5 years' experience in a church ministerial environment with focus on youth/next generation ministryPreferred ministerial degree and substantiated leadership experience

Knowledge & SkillsVigorously supports our mission and visionCooperates with our guiding principles and philosophy of ministryUnderstands current cultural/social environment, particularly relating to younger generationsMaintains a healthy attitude and support for our Lead Pastor and teamStrong prayer lifeUnderstanding of current events, youth culture, and social mediaEffective communication with all levels of staff, community, and particularly with younger generationsAbility to interpret and respond to personal and confidential situationsManagement of multiple priorities and eventsProficiency with MS Office, internet, email, and social media resourcesExperience with digital platforms and communication tools relevant to youth ministry

Working ConditionsTravel to various locations and facilities is requiredInside and outside work in a variety of venuesNon-hourly position that may require ministry after regular hoursLight lifting, bending, pushing, and pullingAbility to drive or airline travel, internationally and nationallySome work performed in an office environment with proper heating, cooling, and lighting
