To be responsible for the development and oversight of a Community Ministry with the goal of drawing families and singles into the Dover Family by sharing the gospel, seeing salvations in the Lord Jesus Christ, and investing in them prayerful they become devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Reports to: Pastor.

Qualifications and Position Requirements:

• One who exhibits a personal and growing relationship with the Lord Jesus, a teachable spirit, and a healthy personal life
• One who possesses, preferably, a bachelor's degree in a related field, experience in ministry, basic administrative skills, and a personal spiritual life congruent with biblical mandates for leaders (1 Timothy 3:1-7).
• One who is capable of creating and executing a long-term vision for Dover's community ministry
• One who is gifted and is called to ministry, loves people, and has a passion for discipleship, evangelism and outreach, both personally and at the ministry level
• One who possesses a strong biblical and theological background and who agrees with Dover Baptist's statement of faith and the Baptist Faith and Message
• A self-motivated leader, capable of casting and imparting vision for ministry, possessing relational skills

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and organize effective outreach/evangelistic opportunities that fit the make-up of the community centered on building relationships that lead toward sharing the gospel, home bible studies and assimilation into the fellowship.
• Recruit, train and shepherd volunteers with diverse gifts and personalities.
• Maintain contact with the community. Seek connections with schools, businesses and other means that could lead to ways to do outreach, share the gospel, and disciple.
• Assist in the development and oversight of and ministry budgets related to the position
• Work with the Social Media Director (or designated persons) to have an Internet, Twitter, and Facebook presence that the Community responds to
• Seek to Assimilate people into the fellowship of Dover Baptist
• Other duties as required.

Expectations:

• Lead and grow Dover's community ministry in meaningful ways both numerically and spiritually.
• Be mentored by the Pastor, remaining accountable and responsive to his oversight of the fellowship.
• Meet with the Pastor bi-weekly and provide quarterly reports of how the ministry is progressing.
• Present written quarterly ministry updates and goals for the coming year to the deacon board
• Participate in a yearly job performance review.
• Present a yearly budget proposal.
• Stay current with community ministry practices by reading, attending conferences, etc.
