The Next Generation Pastor provides leadership and oversight for all ministries that serve high school, middle school, elementary school, and preschool aged kids as well as their parents.

Fort Caroline Baptist is a rapidly growing church in the East Arlington neighborhood of Jacksonville, FL. Planted as a mission in 1978 and constituted in 1982, FCBC has a rich history of reaching their community for Christ. Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific to the Role:

• Implement, evaluate, and continually improve the overall discipleship strategy for children and students in our church.
• Provide excellent oversight and leadership to the Kids Ministry Director.
• Develop and execute a strategy to reach students for Christ, integrate them into the life of our church, disciple them, and help them to live on mission.
• Recruit and develop great volunteer teams to carry out the mission in student ministry.
• Oversee, improve, and grow all discipleship ministries including small groups, classes, Bible studies, and affinity groups.
• Work alongside student ministry parents to assist them in making disciples of their kids.
• Ensure the kids ministry is equipping parents to make disciples of their children.
• Establish and execute a plan for leadership development in all next generation ministry areas.

Shared by all Pastors:

• Shepherd the members of the church through prayer, encouragement, correction, visitation, and counsel.
• Work to protect the unity, doctrine, and reputation of the church.
• Assist in leading Sunday morning worship services, including preaching, as needed.
• Various other pastoral duties including baptisms, weddings, funerals, church discipline, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must model a deep commitment to Christ and His mission.
• Must adhere to the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000.
• Must be committed to the mission, vision, and values of Fort Caroline Baptist Church.
• Minimum three (2) years experience in a ministry position at a church of like faith and practice.
• Bachelor's degree required, seminary degree preferred.
