Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree and some experience in kids and student ministry at a local church

Overland Church is a church with families who desire to disciple their kids and students. Overland Church began as a church plant and has a heart for church planting and a desire to raise up church planters from within. 

Job Description

Role: The NextGen Director/Pastor is the facilitator of evangelism and discipleship for kids and students at Overland Church by coming alongside of parents as they disciple their children. The NextGen Director/Pastor will be responsible for equipping parents to disciple their kids and students by investing in all ministries to families at Overland Church in a way that fulfills the mission of Overland. The NextGen Director/Pastor will carefully and accurately preach and teach expositional bible lessons in an age-appropriate way to kids and students. The NextGen Director/Pastor will lead a ministry team comprised of volunteers and will facilitate ongoing recruiting and training of volunteers for kids and student ministries.  

Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Hold a high view of Scripture and live out this view in daily life
• Express a calling to ministry and desire to reach the next generation through a multiplying church
• Possess internally motivated self-starter mentality to passionately steward opportunities and resources to grow NextGen Ministry at Overland Church
• Establish and direct a team of volunteers to provide gospel centered opportunities for kids and students to learn about and grow in their faith.
• Consistently cast vision for and carry out the vision and mission of NextGen Ministry at Overland Church.
• Plan, organize, and execute NextGen Ministry events that serve the church as well as the community. 
• Establish a presence in the community and build relationships with local schools (public, private, charter, etc.) with the goal of reaching lost students. 
• Partner with parents to disciple their kids and students by equipping them with resources and opportunities to teach foundational biblical principles. 
• Affirm the vision and doctrine of Overland Church 
• Pursue holiness and godliness daily
• Live out the call to make disciples and shepherd kids and students to make disciples
• Live an evangelistic lifestyle
• Hold a high view of hard work and commit to being a team player
• Oversee the planning and leading of NextGen ministry on Sunday mornings, throughout the week, and special events.
• Effectively utilize communications to better equip parents to disciple their kids and students
• Embrace Overland as your “home” church and (with immediate family, if applicable) be invested to join in membership at Overland immediately.
