NextGen Pastor
Position Summary:
The NextGen Pastor is called by the church to fulfill the following areas: Student Ministry, Benevolence, and Recreational responsibilities. Reports to Senior Pastor.
Student Ministry Responsibilities:
Disciple students already plugged into the ministry by creating a comprehensive plan for growth, both in depth and breadth.
- Direct the planning, execution, and evaluation of a comprehensive ministry to Middle School and High School students. Promote all weekly student activities, including but not limited to Sunday morning Bible study and Wednesday night small groups.
- Build God-honoring relationships with students that encourage them in their walk with Christ.
- Prepare and promote a calendar of student activities in coordination with the church-wide calendar of events and ministries.
- Encourage students to participate in corporate worship and identify opportunities for personal worship.
- Encourage students to become involved in serving in the church body.
- Continually explore ways to expand the reach and impact of the Student Ministry in alignment with Fee Fee's vision and mission
Promote personal outreach in the student ministry (i.e., sharing your faith, living with an outreach mindset, inviting friends to church, etc.).
- Plan activities that focus on reaching students who do not have a relationship with Jesus.
- Plan trips/events that are outreach focused (i.e., Mission trips, serving at food bank, etc.
Create a Student Leadership team and a team of adult volunteers for developing and setting expectations and requirements of both.
- Work with and encourage volunteers as they serve in the youth ministry.
- Enlist and train adult workers to ensure adequate involvement in student activities.
- Communicate well, both verbally and in written form, with students, parents, and staff. Use multiple modes of communication effectively to keep those groups fully informed.
- Be available for counsel to students and parents as necessary and appropriate.
- Prepare and present the student budget. Supervise and coordinate all expenditure of the student ministry budget in accordance with policy guidelines.
Exhibit personal characteristics which promote cooperation and harmony among students, church members and staff.
Recreation Ministry:
§ Coordinate all sport activities.
§ Cultivate a recreational ministry that advances the overall ministry of the church.
Benevolence:
§ Coordinate and manage benevolence within the church.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
Qualifications:
§ Possess God's call to Christian ministry, with skills and passion in the areas of leadership and development.
§ Dedicated to magnifying worship, promoting evangelism, strengthening biblical education, and discipling believers.
§ Committed to living and serving in a manner consistent with the standards set forth in scripture for such a leader.
§ Demonstrate a willingness to seek out latest information and incorporate improvements.
§ Exhibit outstanding listening skills to ensure mutual understanding.
§ Demonstrate a Christ-like attitude in all interactions and be ever conscious of the need for confidentiality.
Compensation:
Total pay package worth $55,000/yr, including insurance and retirement
