Job Overview

PURPOSE: The Nursery worker shall support the church's nursery ministry:

1. Provide a safe, healthy, and loving environment for children 0-3 years old.
2. Meet the spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, and social needs of the children.
3. Educate children through Bible stories and activities.
4. Coordinate volunteers to assist in the nursery.

Job Description

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: To provide a safe, nurturing environment for children, from birth through age three, during church related functions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate shall:

1. Be a Christian.
2. High school graduate or higher education.
3. Have had experience working with children birth to age 3.
4. Demonstrate a basic love for children.
5. Be in good health, able to bend, stoop, lift, and physically take care of children.
6. Be at least 18 years of age.
7. Be certified in CPR, within three months of employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Help provide and maintain a Christian environment in which the children may grow physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually.
2. Become acquainted with each child and aware of his/her needs.
3. Give each child the attention needed to assure his/her best welfare. (This relates to eating, toileting, playing, working, health care, safety, etc.)
4. Work according to the scheduled events of the church. (Primarily Sundays 10:00 am-12:00 pm arriving 15 minutes early to welcome parents and children and remaining 15 minutes after for parent pick-up and clean up). Occasional other services are held throughout the year that require nursery dependent upon the workers availability.
5. Maintain a clean and orderly room each week.
6. Inform the Board of Education of needed supplies, repairs, and materials.
7. Make careful observations and written notations of significant behavior of children for whom you are responsible.

PAY: Starting at $17-$20 per hour
