Time Commitment:

· 2-2.5 hours on Sunday mornings on-site at First Baptist Church Clinton.

· Approximately 1-3 hours of preparation time/planning meetings flexible to availability throughout the week.

· 1.5 hour rehearsal on Wednesday evenings or as scheduled

· Additional rehearsals if needed prior to major concerts/holidays/cantatas- for example, prior to Christmas or Easter if necessary.

Work Location: Onsite at First Baptist Church, Clinton, TN

Responsibilities Include:

· Planning special music and rehearsing with sanctuary choir on Wednesday nights except for cancellations due to holidays or weather

· Leading Congregational music and sanctuary choir during regularly scheduled Sunday morning worship services and special services as scheduled by the church

· Planning and coordinating music and other activities with the Pastor and Ministerial Staff by providing hymns and special music based on scripture provided by the Pastor. Scheduled staff meeting are not required, but are open to attendance.

· Schedule guest musicians for special services and a suitable substitute for themselves in the event of absence. Guest musicians and a suitable substitute is based on current supply rate set by personnel

· Maintain and secure music library and instruments i.e. ordering music, maintaining handbells, scheduling piano and organ tunings

· Work with music committee to operate within music budget

· Act as the supervisor for the Organist and Pianist to schedule regular rehearsals, additional rehearsals, and to discuss expectations for rehearsals, church services, and other church events as needed.

Required Qualifications:

· Believer in Christ

· Proficiency in vocal and ensemble teaching

· Ability to work in a team environment

· Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

· Commitment to maintaining personal integrity and ethical standards in ministry work

· Vocal or musical accompaniment for funeral services as need dictates.

· The Church will provide remuneration at the current supply rate for each service if no honorarium is received.

· Approval of wedding music for weddings held in facility. Music must meet standards that are appropriate for a church service.

· Stay current on religious educational materials, fair use and copyright laws, and state and federal regulations governing interaction with children

· Meet with Music committee and other stakeholders when necessary i.e. purchase of new chairs, folders, or robes or structural changes to property

Preferred Qualifications:

· 2 years' experience directing choral and worship music

· Undergraduate or graduate degree in music
