Part-Time Music Minister/Worship Pastor

First Baptist Church of Maxville is a warm, Bible-based Southern Baptist congregation that has been serving our rural community for over 100 years. With our longtime music minister retiring, we are seeking a part-time Worship Pastor/Music Minister to lead us into a new season of Christ-centered worship. With about 100 in Sunday worship, we are looking for someone to help us grow in joyful, blended worship.

About Us

Our mission is to "bring all generations to Christ" through biblical teaching and a family-like atmosphere. Our congregation values traditional hymns, newer hymns, contemporary worship, and gospel, and we seek a leader who can blend them well.

The Opportunity

You will be stepping into a ministry with a supportive congregation and room to grow. We currently have vocalists and musicians, plus a congregational choir, ready to be led and developed. This is a unique opportunity for a gifted leader to cultivate our music ministry and help our members grow in their musical gifts.

Key Responsibilities

● Planning and leading of Sunday morning worship services. ● Planning and leading music on Wednesday evening services ● Direct and develop the worship team musicians and vocalists, including regular practices ● Direct and develop the congregational choir ● Disciple and equip volunteers to serve in the music ministry. ● Collaborate with pastoral staff to plan services and special events.

Message. ● Passion and appreciation for blended worship, with the ability to draw from hymns,gospel, and contemporary styles. ● Vision and skill to develop and organize a worship ministry that ministers to the congregation and glorifies the Lord. ● Demonstrated vocal ability (instrumental ability is a plus) ● A team player who builds relationships within a close-knit church family. ● A knowledge of modern sound, worship tools, and technology is a plus.

This is a part-time, salaried role commensurate with experience
