General Purpose of Position:

To build young disciples for Christ by developing and implementing a comprehensive approach to youth ministry (in the areas of worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach/evangelism) and oversee the children's department while serving as a spiritual leader and role model. The candidate's theological position should be compatible with the Church's doctrinal position and he or she should ascribe to basic Baptist beliefs such as:

· Jesus is fully human and fully God. He is the only savior of humanity.

· Humanity is sinful and without hope apart from Jesus Christ.

· Salvation is by grace through faith alone in Jesus Christ.

· Baptism is by immersion as modeled by Jesus Christ in His baptism

· The Bible is the true and divinely inspired word of God.

· The local church has Christ as it's head and is autonomous in its government.

Organizational Relationship and Supervision:

Reports to: Senior Pastor as on-site manager as well as spiritual and ministry guidance. Personnel Committee as position supervisor. Reviews will be conducted by the Personnel committee with input from the Senior Pastor.

Attendance at the following meetings is expected: Church Council, bi-weekly staff meetings, youth committee, and children's committee meetings.

Qualifications:

· Exhibits a strong walk with God though a growing relationship with Jesus Christ

· Strong Biblical foundation

· Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, conflict management skills, and computer skills.

· Must have vision and a demonstrated ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage and implement a youth ministry.

· Able to make decisions, solve problems, manage conflict, and work well on a team

· Knowledge of student culture and experience in effectively communicating God's truth to students in ways they can understand

The Primary Duties:

· Love youth and children where they are

· Encourage youth and children in developing their relationship to God

· Provide them with opportunities for nurture and growth

· Challenge them to respond to God's call to serve in their communities and world
