THE BIG PICTURE

Faith Community Church (faithcommunity.net) is prayerfully seeking a pastor with a particular focus on preaching and discipleship, set apart by the Holy Spirit to join our team of pastor/elders to shepherd God’s blood-bought flock among us. Faith Community Church is located in Gambrills, Maryland, a suburban community near Annapolis, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. Our church was founded in 1978, when several families met together in regular prayer that God would raise up an independent Bible church in the area. Over the years, we have been grateful for the opportunity to witness God’s work of transforming hearts through the good news of Jesus, of calling people to be His followers and ambassadors locally and abroad.

Proclaiming Essentials

• Bible-based, Christ-centered, expository preaching (II Timothy 4:1-2; I Corinthians 2:1-2)
• Teaching with Gospel-driven, daily life application (Romans 1:16; Titus 2:1,10)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills (Mark 6:34)
• Adherence to essential doctrines (Ephesians 4:4-6,11-14)
• Gracious toward varying views on non-essential doctrines (Titus 3:9)

Caring Essentials

• Partnering with the elders to shepherd the staff, leadership, and congregation (I Peter 5:1-4)
• Focus on intentional relationship development within the church family (I Thess. 2:7-12)
• Love for one another (Ephesians 5:1-2)
• Ability to foster a sense of community within the church (I Peter 4:8-11)
• Encouragement of the body to meet the diverse needs of a multi-generational congregation (I Timothy 5:1-8)

Leadership Essentials

• Humility in servanthood (Matthew 20:25-28)
• Values and fosters a plurality of leadership (Acts 20:28)
• Mobilization of a congregation for growth through evangelism and discipleship (Matt. 28:18-20)

Desired qualifications

• Minimum M.Div. or equivalent degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years pastoral experience preferred
