First Baptist Church, Terry, MS, is a loving traditional Southern Baptist Church located just 15 miles from Jackson. Guided by the Holy Spirit and God's Word, our heart is to reach Terry and beyond with the hope of Jesus Christ. Our average attendance in SS is about 110. We gather for Bible study and worship, growing together in faith and fellowship. We stand firmly on the truth of Scripture and the Baptist Faith and Message, as adopted by the SBC (2000), joyfully observing believer's baptism and the Lord's Supper as Christ commanded. Jesus reminds us in John 13:35, "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." That love is the heartbeat of our church and the defining mark of our fellowship. It shapes how we serve our neighbors, encourage one another, and shine the light of Christ in our community. We are prayerfully seeking a full-time pastor who will walk alongside us in worship, teaching, pastoral care, and ministry leadership. Services include Sunday mornings and evenings, as well as Wednesday prayer meeting and Bible study. To support this calling, we offer a parsonage on church property if desired.
