Job Description

· Southbay Community Baptist Church (scbc.net) is seeking a Full-Time pastor for the adult English congregation in a trilingual (English, Cantonese, Mandarin) Southern Baptist church. This position will report to the Lead Pastor.

· The pastor is the congregation's spiritual leader and is responsible for proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, teaching Biblical truth, providing pastoral care, and exercising administrative leadership.

· He should be able to lead collaboratively with the deacons, other pastors and the church staff to provide opportunities for Southbay Community Baptist members/guests to worship, be discipled toward growth in their walk of faith, and implement strategies that will encourage and lead members to serve and impact their church and community with gospel centered lives.

Qualifications

· Master of Divinity from an accredited theological seminary

· Five years of full-time ministry experience

· Affirmation of beliefs and practices of the Southern Baptist Convention – https://bfm.sbc.net/bfm2000/

· Experience in managing staff as a primary supervisor and or administrator of church staff. (Preferred)

· Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

· Possess leadership and strategic thinking capabilities.

· Possess proven character, integrity, and having proper priorities at home with family.

Duties and responsibilities

· Preach on Sundays

· Provide pastoral care to the congregation and seekers in need of biblical counsel and wisdom.

· Administer the ordinances of the church (Baptism and Communion) on a regular and as needed basis.

· Perform weddings, baby dedications, funerals as requested.

· Provide guidance and encouragement to the deacons, persons, programs, and ministries of the church family.

· Support the members and leaders of the other congregations as needed.

· Fulfill every church's call to advance God's kingdom by bearing the cross, praying for those who persecute us, loving our enemies, serving the poor, visiting those imprisoned, and remembering the widows and orphans.

Compensation and Benefits

· Salary: $80,000 + depending on experience

· Benefits: 10 Days + 5 Days of Sick/Leave, Retirement set aside from salary
