Be responsible to provide leadership and support to small group ministry in our church by shepherding and equipping those who lead groups; provide leadership for teams that help our church to gather, grow, and scatter; connect our church family to opportunities for community outreach.

Be a pastoral generalist who is willing to wear multiple hats—someone able to teach when needed; able to provide oversight and support to the various ministries of our church; able to train and build up leaders from within our congregation; and provide leadership to music ministry (if able.).

Job Description

Summary

The specific responsibilities of this role are flexible and will be determined based upon 1) the gifts/experience of the candidate and 2) the oversight of the elders in accord with the needs of the congregation. Whether you are interested in either a Pastoral role (currently serving as elder/more experience) OR a Ministry Director role (not currently an elder/less experience), you are welcome to apply.

The Pastor of Discipleship and Worship will provide oversight with respect to our entry point, assimilation, and discipleship efforts of the church–to help every visitor, member, and regular attender connect to opportunities to gather, grow, and scatter.

Responsibilities

This role would be expected to carry out the following responsibilities:

Essential Responsibilities

1. Discipleship: Help provide oversight to the discipleship ministries of our church. Connect visitors, members, and regular attenders to opportunities for growth (Membership, Community Groups, and Connection Hour classes), service (ministry teams), and outreach (personal and corporate opportunities). Help our church family interact and develop healthy relationships both inside and outside of the church. Develop a greater sense of community church-wide within our ministry structures and assist various ministries and teams in their connections strategies. Guide an outreach team to connect our church family to our local outreach efforts. Collaborate with the Lead pastor to help plan and implement adult education curriculum, and teach when needed.
2. Congregational ministry. Provide counseling, prayer, and word ministry to people as needed and as directed by the Lead Pastor and/or elders. Serve as an active member of the church congregation by discipling, practicing hospitality, and attending services, small groups, and church events. Welcome visitors and create ways for new guests to get plugged into our local body and ministry.
3. Staff: Participate as a full member of the staff team, including attendance at weekly meetings, involvement in the visitation of members, and fulfillment of general office responsibilities
4. Flexibility: Perform other duties as assigned.

Potential Responsibilities

1. Worship: Collaborate other pastors with scheduling, special services (Good Friday & Christmas Eve), selecting Scripture-saturated songs, and serving as the primary platform leader. Recruit, equip, and utilize volunteers in worship and Audio/Visual.
2. Preaching: Preach 5-10 times a year as assigned by the Lead Pastor and elder team.
