Position Title: Pastor of Music and Technology Denver Baptist Church

Denver is a fast-growing community that sits on the shores of Lake Norman just North of Charlotte, North Carolina. DBC was chartered in 1984 with 69 members. It has continued to grow through the preaching of the gospel, commitment to God's Word, and love of mission. DBC now sits on 35 acres of property in the heart of Denver and sees around 450 people attending every week.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Pastor of Music & Technology will serve as an elder and shepherd to Denver Baptist Church primarily responsible for overseeing the use of music and technology for exalting Christ, edifying the church and evangelizing the lost.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain a vital relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, study of God's Word, worship, personal evangelism, and fellowship with believers. 2. If married, nurture a healthy and growing relationship with his wife and family. 3. Assist the Lead Pastor in the planning, participation, and presentation of the worship gatherings. 4. Lead the church from a piano or guitar in authentic Christ-centered musical worship with the assistance of the music and production teams. 5. Recruit, train and manage volunteers on the music and production teams. 6. Develop a long-range vision for the music ministry of Denver Baptist Church with the lead pastor and implement that vision. 7. Lead weekly rehearsals of the music and production teams. 8. Manage the worship center stage to promote a healthy worship environment. 9. Manage and develop the production rooms (i.e. video and podcast) including equipment and decor to promote effective content production. 10. Manage video and podcast content production including content capture and editing. 11. Manage music and production equipment, software, and copyright licenses. 12. Prepare and submit the annual budget needs for the music, production and technology and administer the budgets according to stated policy. 13. Consult the elders on effective uses of technology and media to help with the church's missions. 14. Collaborate with Media & Communications Director on the use of music and technology in social media and other forms of communication. 15. Engage in hands on discipleship of music team members, production team members, and all members generally. 16. Generally, serve as an elder and shepherd for the church. 17. Perform other duties assigned by the Lead Pastor or Executive Pastor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required 1. Meets the Biblical qualification of an elder (1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9). 2. Affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. 3. Gifted musician and vocalist. 4. Experience leading corporate worship in a church setting. 5. Experience leading a multimedia production team and environment. 6. Competent in audio and video technology. 7. Committed to a collaborative team environment.

Preferred 1. 5+ years of experience serving on a local church staff. 2. Formal theological education.
