Pastor of Pre-K – 1st Grade – Eastview Christian Church
Ministry Responsibilities

The Pastor of Pre-K – 1st Grade serves as the ministry leader and resource person for building, leading, and developing a Pre-K – 1st grade ministry that aligns with the vision and values of Eastview Christian Church.

Essential Duties
  • Craft and cast a vision for Pre-K – 1st grade ministry
  • Create annual strategic plan and budget
  • Plan and execute an annual planning retreat with the team leaders
  • Plan, staff, and execute strategic special events (i.e.: family camp, dad camp, etc.)
  • Recruit, lead, and develop volunteers including a group of team leaders
  • Provide initial and quarterly training and resources to help volunteers successfully teach and lead their areas of responsibility
  • Assess the quality of volunteers, give feedback, and respond accordingly
  • Disciple volunteers who will shepherd young children in tehri relationship with Jesus
  • Oversee Pre-K leader
  • Work synergistically with other Eastview Kids staff members in planning and execution of Sunday programming
  • Manage the facilities and resources for Sunday programming
  • Collaborate with other departments in ministry initiatives
  • Disciple children in both formal programming and informal interactions
  • Pastor the Pre-K – 1st grade kids, the families, and volunteers
  • Plan and execute a Kindergarten Milestone event and 1st grade Recognition Day
  • Participate in monthly Kids staff meetings; staff prayer, meetings, training, and retreats; and director meetings
  • Keep informed about current ministry ideas, resources, and methods in children's ministry by reading and attending conferences, seminars, and workshops
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Demonstrated ability with strategic planning and budgets
  • Ability to recruit, delegate, lead, and train volunteers
  • Be teachable
  • Strong communication skills with children and parents
  • Exceptional teaching skills
  • Strong skills in training and collaboration
  • Strong commitment to team unity and staff unity
  • Winsome demeanor and enthusiastic attitude
  • Ability to and comfortable with planning and organizing
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Publisher) and Adobe products
  • Attend or become a regular attender of Eastview Christian Church
