Pine Forest Baptist Church, in Macon, Georgia, is seeking a full-time Pastor of Worship & Students (6th-12th). The Pastor of Worship and Students, in conjunction with the Lead Pastor, will be responsible for planning, overseeing, and leading Sunday morning worship as well as youth ministries for grades 6th-12th grade.

He will oversee and ensure a consistent, Christ-centered, biblical ministry that guides students in biblical discipleship. He will come alongside parents, helping them disciple their children in the faith.

General Overview of Role:

Pastoral Duties for Students:

• Lead students into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by faithfully teaching the whole council of God, setting a godly example for them to follow, and building relationships with students and families
• Provide weekly discipleship opportunities for spiritual growth (weekly small and/or large group gatherings on Wednesday nights, mentoring, reaching out to both the churched & unchurched students, etc.)
• Plan, promote, and execute special events as needed (mission trips, youth conferences, local service projects, D-now, fellowship events, etc.)
• Recruit and train adult leaders to help serve and lead in various ministries and eventsCommunicate with parents and visitors professionally, effectively, and in a timely manner
• Attend school functions where students are involved

Pastoral Duties for Congregational Worship:

• Meet with the Lead Pastor and Pastoral staff to plan weekly worship services
• Oversee, in conjunction with the Lead Pastor, weekly congregational worship
• Cast vision for the worship ministry
• Work with sound team to oversee sound, lighting, live-streaming, etc.
• Recruit, train, and deploy additional vocalists and musicians

General Responsibilities:

• Participate in weekly staff meetings by providing input for the overall growth & direction of the church
• Fill in preaching on occasion
• Be active in the overall life and ministries of the church

Core Priorities:

• Seek a balance between the spiritual disciplines, grounding students in God's Word, and outreach.
• Encourage the youth to be involved in serving in various ministries of the local church.
• Seek a balance between office hours and being among students and families.
• Seek a balance between family time and ministry time.

Candidates should have a close personal relationship with Christ. They must meet scriptural qualifications of a pastor, affirm the doctrine of the church, and be personally active in evangelistic and discipleship efforts.

This position requires Biblical knowledge and sound theology. A college degree, bachelor's or master's, is preferred but not necessary. We will evaluate the candidates on a case by case basis. Candidates must be comfortable leading blended worship.

Please note, this is not a 40 hour per week office job. There is the expectation that this pastor is out in the community building relationships with families and students, but he also must not neglect giving himself to study and to prayer.
