Delaware Bible Church is looking to hire a man to the position of Pastor of Youth & Worship. Responsibilities for this position will include creating, developing and overseeing the junior high and senior high youth programs, the DBC Choir, and the DBC Worship Team including all aspects of congregational worship.

Delaware Bible Church is a multi-generational, non-denominational Bible church located in Delaware, OH (30 minutes north of downtown Columbus). This is a church of around 400 with a Christian school of around 390 students. Worship includes a blended mix of songs and hymns led by a worship team.

Job Description

Youth & Family Ministry Youth – Working with the Pastoral staff and Elder Board, develop and supervise the junior high and senior high youth program in such a way that will honor God, teach the importance of salvation to those without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, equip the youth through Biblical discipleship and practical opportunities for Christian service, provide opportunities for community outreach and interaction, include special activities, such as missions trips (coordinating with the Missions Committee) and retreats, and appeal to the youth of Delaware Bible Church, Delaware Christian School, and the unchurched of the community.

Family – Develop relationships with parents of involved children and youth to provide guidance from a Biblical perspective. Equip parents to raise children according to God’s Word through teaching, effective small and mid-sized group curriculums, and personal discipleship.

Worship Ministry

Lead the choir and Worship Team on a weekly basis including rehearsals and worship services. Ensure that all worship elements including presentation slides and proper music are in place. Generally oversee all

aspects of the DBC music ministry including special music and AV. Teaching/Preaching on an occasional basis as needed (if interested). May be required to teach Sunday School as needed and as available given music obligations. Teaching or preaching at a special event, camp, or at DCS chapel as needed and dependent on availability.

General Pastoral Ministry

Staying informed of the circumstances and needs of the church family shall be accomplished through regular interaction with the congregation. Priority shall be given during time of illness, death, crisis situations, or times of celebration. As an Elder, the Pastor would be expected to lead a small group (called a ‘LIFE Group’).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. At least a 4-year degree with desired or related experience.

2. Gifted and has some training in music.

3. Trained in the Nouthetic approach to Biblical counseling or be willing to be trained. Must attain

ACBC certification within four years of employment (or three years if no previous training).

4. Able to communicate effectively with various diverse groups.

5. Has sound Biblical knowledge and an understanding in the Biblical design for discipleship.

6. Maintains fitness and energy levels commensurate with youth groups and youth group

activities.

7. Must be able to pass a FBI/BCI background check.
