Redeemer Bible Fellowship Church is seeking a man who is a fully committed follower of Jesus Christ and who desires to see others also become fully committed followers of the Lord.  He preaches and teaches the Scripture, because he accepts their inspiration, inerrancy, and final authority for faith and practice.  He desires to equip the Christ’s followers for the work of the ministry and the spread of the Gospel to reach the lost.  The pastor will mentor and disciple individuals and families.  He will help develop a vision for the church.  The pastor will lead the church with the Elders.  The pastor will oversee the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.  Redeemer Church is a Bible Fellowship Church that ministers in accord with the Faith and Order of the BFC.  But our highest allegiance is to the Scriptures.  Recognizing and appreciating the autonomy of the local church, we seek to be biblically sound in our teaching, polity, and functioning as we live out our faith in community.  We plan to call a pastor who is in accord with the BFC, who believes in the sovereignty of God in salvation, and who is Christ-centered in his view of the Bible.  Redeemer Church functions effectively as a body without more structure than is necessary.

Job Description

Responsibilities

a) The Pastor exercises the oversight of the work and the pastoral care of the flock in accordance with the Scriptures.  In this he is first and foremost accountable unto God.  As his principal advisors the church elects from among its members Elders to assist him in his calling.

b) The Pastor preaches the Word on most Sundays, helps those who serve the body in our service, and participates in and directs the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

c) The Pastor shepherds the flock on a personal basis as time, energy and gifts will permit.
